The amazing developers behind The Tower game have recently released the Tower Modules update, this update provides a brand new way to progress through the game, one that will massively benefit new players who have not yet farmed up the absurdly high number of coins required to do anything worthwhile. Here’s everything we know about this update:
What are Modules?
Modules are powerful bonuses to various aspects of your Tower. They have two core stats, a primary main stat and a secondary bonus. Unfortunately, you do have to spend gems in order to get modules – but the cost remains in line with the card costs at a flat 20 gems per module.
If you purchased the no-ads microtransaction, you should be able to purchase a module or two every now and then, keep in mind that gems are regularly earned as prizes for participating in tournaments and as a possible reward for participating in events. We will cover additional sources of gems in a future post.
Module Types
There are four types of module, each with its own dedicated set of bonuses.
- Cannon – Top Left Slot
- Main Stat – % Bonus to Attack Damage
- Secondary Effects – Attack Upgrade Bonuses
- Armor – Bottom Left Slot
- Main Stat – % Bonus to Tower Health
- Secondary Effects – Defense Upgrade Bonuses
- Generator – Top Right Slot
- Main Stat – % Bonus to Coin Bonus
- Secondary Effects – Utility Upgrade Bonuses
- Core – Bottom Right Slot
- Main Stat – % Bonus to Ultimate Weapon Damage
- Secondary Effects – Ultimate Weapons Upgrade Bonuses
The Main Stat bonus is present on all modules by default and depends primarily on the tier of the module, whereas the secondary effects are much more random and need significant investments to unlock and properly roll.
Additional Balance Changes
The maximum level bonus of the Defense % upgrade has been raised from 90% to 98% – making it a lot easier to progress further on a tank build. This is only for veteran players though because new players will not be reaching these numbers any time soon.
Future Update Hints
In their update notes, The Tower developers also hinted at future updates that they were working on, here’s what we should expect in future updates, we have condensed the list a little bit to focus on additional content that we can expect.
- Module Labs – this is potentially a way to boost up modules even further!
- Player Statistics in Game.
- Improvement to the Module Arts, currently it is difficult to see the difference between a regular module and a + (Plus) version of the same rarity.
- Show a confirmation panel for the Max Upgrade option so you can be aware of the costs before investing everything.
- Auto Merge System so you don’t have to keep scratching your head about everything.
- Other ways to earn modules instead of just through gems.
How to unlock Tower Modules?
The third menu is the Tower Modules menu. You need to finish Wave 90 on Tier 2 Difficulty in order to unlock this menu. After which you will receive tickets for the first 10 modules for free. You can purchase more modules for 20 gems each.
